Champions Center Speed Show Series is coming up in a couple weeks and we have a little info for you barrel racers. OGBRA (Ohio Girls Barrel Racing) and IBRA (International Barrel Racing Assoc.) have approved ALL the dates for Ohio. We are also going to have co approvals with IBRA from IN and KY on certain dates. Here are the dates at this point for the co approvals: Jan 28 & 29 (IN & KY approved) March 3 & 4 (IN approved & KY pending) April (KY Pending. NO IN). I hope this will help out some of the other states get some saddle time in before spring. Thanks to all of you who have contacted us requesting for us to look into co approvals.
Champions Center Winter Speed Show Series Posted 12/29/2011 9:36am
The Champions Center will be putting on a series of speed shows in 2012 with over $2000 added money to each show. At the end of the series we will be giving away awards to the High Point and Resv. High Point places in each divsion of the Youth 3D Barrels, Open 4D Barrels and the Masters 3D Barrels. The dates are January 27-29, March 2-4 and Finals on April 6th-8th. The Champions Center is entering Phase II of planning operations. We are excited to report that the Center is alive and well with events already scheduled into 2013. In the near future, you will see a renewed energy surrounding the complex. Halverson appointed OEAA Executive DirectorPress Release: The Board of Directors of The Ohio Equine & Agriculture Association is pleased to welcome David J. Halverson as Executive Director of the Champions Center, a state-of-the-art livestock exposition complex located on the Clark County Fairgrounds campus. Mr. Halverson, recently of Ackley, Iowa, brings fourteen years of experience to the position, having directed All-Phase Arena in Minnesota, Kirkwood Community College's Iowa Equestrian Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and the Ag & Renewable Energy Center as well as Ellsworth's Equestrian Center, in Iowa Falls, Iowa.According to OEAA Board President Larry Krugh, “Dave's background in managing all aspects of three different livestock and equine arenas, as well as his experience in the funding and financial aspects of facilities like the Champions Center makes him uniquely qualified for this position. The board and staff are very excited to welcome him to Springfield, and we're looking forward to his expert leadership and positive energy as the Champions Center enters a new level of growth and community involvement.” With Clark County's long tradition as a progressive location for new agricultural developments, from the origin of the national 4-H program to innovations in farm machinery, the Champions Center is in a unique position to evolve into the most exciting livestock expo center in the Midwest, and the OEAA Board looks forward to working with Mr. Halverson to achieve that goal.
